Since I am originally from Miami, snow is a big deal for me. You can imagine how excited I am to finally experience a Minnesota winter. I didn't get a chance to really play around in the fresh powder, but I did walk around and snap some shots.
Normally, I strongly advocate using the lowest ISO possible (to minimize noisy blacks) but I was hoping to catch the falling snow in my shots so I was shooting shutter speeds around 1/500th of a second. This meant that I had to bump my ISO up to 800-1600.
Unfortunately, the falling snow was too small to really get picked up in the photos but we are expecting more snow throughout the week, and even sub-zero temperatures!
